Paris-based artist Antoine Cordet‘s art touches on melancholy and nostalgia but his general outlook is positive because art gives him liberty to be who he has always wanted to be. Antoine Cordet created his personal style through intense trial and error and a work ethic that makes him one to really keep an eye on.
Antoine Cordet about his work:
„My life is simply the result of my life experiences, of all that time spent behond a marker, a spray can or a brush. It is a mixture of everything I´ve done, experimented since my teenage years.
The subject is present indeed, and I can´t help treating it frotnally. It tends to be static, so I try to bring it a certain pattern, freshness. I try to undust it.
I believe that life is very similar to a house, you have to explore each of its corners, go to kitchen and make a mess all over the worktop, jump on the beds in the bedrooms, rummage through cupboards, we must expore everything and not reduce ourselves to what we already know.
I judge my work with hindsight and time. You have to let a bit of time flow, thats how you can free critical mind and climb up the ladder. It´s a non stop work on oneself and behind the appearance of a canvas, there aleways is a perpetual mental conditioning.
I see myself in a bubble. I can not get out of, and finanlly, until my life ends, or maybe not, I don´t know what tomorrow will bring. I´m doomed to think again and again abount the evolution of my painting.“
